klbJLo’s “The Wedding Planner” probably doesn’t hold much significance to many people but for me it was the precise moment I recognized that I wanted to make weddings and events my career.  It may have also been the moment I realized I was celebrity obsessed.  For as long as I can remember I spent nights flipping through wedding magazines and hosting get-togethers for my friends. They say “do what you love and you’ll never work a day…” well now I know what they mean, planning, creating and bringing people’s visions to life along side my best friend is never work and always an adventure.  I strive to bring our couples personalities into their event, making it unique and their own. I love meeting our clients, learning what makes them or their relationship special and then infusing it in their big day. nothing is more rewarding than delivering to them the day they have dreamed of.

I have a crush on…gold, tassels, celebrities, hearts, sbucks, diys, instagram, snl, laughter, bloody mary’s, beverly hills 90210 (the original), love stories, details, award season, the country, musicals, dahlias, bravo, statement earrings, pinterest, anything art deco, family, dinner parties, horses, Elvis, moments captured forever in photography, movies, farms, old hollywood, color, all things fall, a scenic route…xoxo klb

When I was in second grade, a famous children’s book illustrator visited my class in elementary school. I couldn’t believe that drawing pictures in books I loved so much was someone’s job! It was at that moment that I decided I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Fourteen years later, I graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Surface Pattern Design and later that year (after a glorious summer on the beach loving the life of a jobless 21 year old) I began working as a designer creating wrapping paper, gift bags and other social stationery.

When Kristen first approached me to join her in the venture that was to become Darling Creative Co., I was excited to envision how we might combine our talents for design and our love of all things “pretty” to create something truly special. Although I enjoy cultivating every aspect of an event, my favorite part of the process is helping a client’s vision and personality come to life in the details and design of an invitation suite.

I have a crush on….Mayflower Beach, Cape Cod, oysters, pattern mixing, unlimited color palettes (it can sometimes be a problem) the smokey robinson pandora station, bold wallpaper, gold, nail art, false eye lashes, Harpoon IPA, envelope liners, cotton paper, harry potter, painting, french fries, bottomless coffee, vaseline, my mac book, all things Syracuse and my nephew Ford…xoxo jem
